WelcomeSpecial Pathways
At Special Pathways we have a deep rooted passion for SEND and endeavor to make a positive impact for those who have a SEND need. Our team of specialist staff work tirelessly to support our students with SEND developing strategies and techniques that help to better their lives. Those with a SEND need can find it incredibly difficult to manage day to day tasks or activities, hindering their development. At the core of what we offer is a developmental programme that focuses on developing the needs of our students. This way of working allows the student to have more success at home, school and in the community. It also has a positive impact on the family as they feel more confident they can support their child at home and when taking them out.

Why choose us?
teaching within the school
What your child receives
Your child attends school where specific strategies are in place created by the SENCO, teachers or outside professionals such as Educational Psychologist and Occupational Therapist. Your child will have access to the curriculum and will access all or most of the day to day offerings of the school.
How this affects your child
Your child will form certain foundations to their development that give them the basic skills and strategies which support them with their day to day lives. The teaching and learning allows for academic learning. Social opportunities help with forming the necessary skills needed to form and maintain relationships.
What your child receives
Your child attends Special Pathways, a specialist SEND service outside of school. We deliver bespoke teaching tailored to the needs of your child focusing on the way they think, function and what works best for them in order to improve their development and independence. Sustainable skill development is prioritised alongside behavioural regulation, independence, and academic learning. Skills and strategies your child learns with specialist staff are also taught to parents and made available to school staff ensuring a consistent blanketing approach to your child’s development that allows them to reach their full potential.
How this affects your child
Your child is better equipped to manage their needs, they have a better ability to emotionally regulate and better manage their behaviours. They are able to access school to a higher degree and are able to access the community with more ease. As a family you will find it easier to support your child at home and when out of the house. Your child has built up a bank of strategies and techniques that better their emotional regulation, behaviour, independence, social skills and academics.
